Fort Saskatchewan Care Community is a privately-owned Designated Supportive Living community, where most health care services are funded by Alberta Health Services (AHS).
Adults living in Designated Supportive Living (DSL) need significant support for many aspects of daily living, such as preparing meals, bathing, and grooming.
The DSL program is offered in partnership with Alberta Health Services and eligibility is determined through an assessment process by AHS.
Designated Supportive Living services include:
Personal care as determined by your Alberta Health Services individual care plan
All meals
Wellness checks
Plenty of recreational opportunities
Linen and housekeeping services
Optional services: personal laundry, internet, cable, telephone, and hair styling
Are you ready to start the process?
The first step is to call Alberta Health Services at 780-496-1300 and answer a series of questions on the phone to register for Home Care.
After that, you will be assigned an AHS Continuing Care Case Manager in your community, who will guide you through the process, assist with the Designated Supportive Living program, and help to choose a seniors community to live in.
